Have any particular actors or characters impressed you this season?

CRAIG: I know I’m a broken record here, but I’m really curious what’s going to happen next with Ray Palmer and his A.T.O.M. suit.

AR304a_1056bSTEPHANIE: Aside from Ray Palmer, who I mentioned earlier, I am increasingly impressed with how developed Nyssa is for a guest star. And there aren’t that many actors who can pull off being a ruthless assassin and a woman capable of loving so deeply. Full disclosure, I might be completely biased having spent a week last month on the set of a film with Katrina Law, but I still think it holds true. Since Nyssa is part of the League of Assassins, she should be a villain, but her intentions make her much harder to classify. Girl just needs a hug.

Additionally, I’m pleased with the way that Felicity has handled Oliver’s decision not to date her. Often times in these situations the girl winds up pining after the man, and that’s neither empowering nor interesting to watch. So kudos to the writers for not taking this route. While Felicity’s understandably upset about it, she doesn’t let it heavily influence her interactions with Oliver or let it slow her down.

I can’t forget to mention that Arsenal and his flips have been impressive to watch.

DEREK: Routh again, more the actor than his character. While Emily Bett Rickards has always nailed her performances, I wasn’t terribly happy with how Felicity was written many times last season. This season, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed where her character has been taken, and feel like she’s been much better used. I like how much she’s taken initiative to purposefully not be the lovestruck girl pining for the hero. The way she’s been somewhat at odds with Oliver without it ever playing like she’s betraying Team Arrow has worked very well.

MATT: Routh and Ray Palmer, of course. I think Katie Cassidy is getting handed better stuff to work with and that’s showing.
