Is there a character on Arrow that you think could be used more effectively?

AR301b_0031bMATT: Right now, I’d say Roy and Quentin Lance are kind of getting the short stick. They’ve both been set up for bigger things as the season moves on, though, as Roy’s guilt over killing the cops will continue to play out and Quentin has yet to learn about Sara. And, as always, I’d like to see more of Diggle.

CRAIG: I still don’t know that Roy has been explored as much or as well as he could be. Perhaps what we can assume will be a few episodes of present day Arrow without Oliver will give us more to see and know about him. Does he have any family? What does he think of wearing shiny red leather? I don’t know; I feel like there could be more.

STEPHANIE: I think Quentin could still be used more effectively because he has consistently been used for a certain effect. When they needed to give the Hood some opposition early on, they used Quentin. Then when the Hood needed help from within the police department, they used Quentin. I enjoy his ever-evolving relationship with the Arrow, but Quentin needs to be developed beyond that and his relationship with Laurel. This season he hasn’t done much outside of work and worry about his daughters. Does he like to golf? Do the Sunday crossword? This is a CW show; where’s his love interest?

AR301a_0005bDEREK: Like I said, while I didn’t like his spotlight episode much, Roy ought to get more to do. I’m not sure where he fits into the show anymore. The poor guy has spent this whole season doing some parkour and getting knocked out. That’s it.

Diggle is always the easy answer, too, but I think he’s been better utilized now than last season. And I hate Quentin essentially being reduced to Aunt May. The heart condition excuse feels like the “Moira running for mayor” of this season — a set-up that surely will create good drama down the line, but is too profoundly stupid in the present to be excusable.
