Team GATV Roundtable: Talking Arrow Season 6 So Far
Opinion January 18, 2018 Craig Byrne
What do you hope to see from the second half of Season 6?
STEPHANIE: More cohesion and structure. Some genuinely surprising and earned storylines. If the show continues to use characters from the past, such as Slade and Roy and Anatoly, I hope they feel seamless and necessary, not like a stunt or an “event episode.” That being said, I do hope the show manages to find a way to free itself from the past and rely on the strengths it has now rather than trying to make what worked back then still work now.
MATT: A real strong plot that brings this group of villains together. You have the talents of Michael Emerson and Kirk Acevedo. I hope they aren’t wasted.
MELISSA: For the most part, I’m in the happy position right now of just enjoying the ride without too many expectations I need met. I am looking forward to the scenes between Thea and Roy. Maybe a rekindling of their romance?
I also always wish for more interaction between the women on the show (Will Felicity and Dinah ever be allowed to speak about, let alone have a conversation about, something not mission related?) Better lighting during the fights would be lovely too. Naturally, I’ll take plenty more heart to hearts between Oliver and Diggle, Oliver and Felicity, and the even more elusive pairing – Felicity and Diggle.
Something I don’t really expect to see but would enjoy is further resolution between Donna and Quentin. They had a brief but charged moment at the reception before they were interrupted and I feel like there is something more to explore. Speaking of Felicity’s parents, again, I don’t expect it, but it seems like a missed opportunity not to somehow tie Noah Cutter, aka the Calculator, to Cayden James, another world class evil hacker.
And hey, since I’m making requests, I’ll also put in for more super sexy Olicity fun time. Let’s keep it coming.
CRAIG: I’m hoping for more investment in the villains plot. I hope Team Arrow isn’t fractured for too long; I want to see some teamwork. I don’t want anyone to ever give Curtis Holt alcohol again.
