What do you think of Wild Dog’s new costume?

MELISSA: It’s fine, maybe a bit too reminiscent of Vigilante’s outfit since both are dark with the red on the chest area.

MATT: Curiously, I kind of like it. I think removing the comic-accurate look diminishes his distinctiveness, but the look fits in well with the rest of the team. I like the way the elements suggest the standout elements of his previous suit. The mask, while obviously more militarized, still feels like it evolved from a hockey mask. The elements on his chest that evoke the dog’s head work well. I was surprised to see he still had the camo pants because that often gets lost in the dark of the filming. Overall, it works for me.

STEPHANIE: It has appropriately evolved, but it doesn’t really stand out amongst the plethora of superhero/vigilante costumes these days. Wild Dog’s original costume was believable and fitting at the time of his introduction. It looked like something Rene could have easily put together through his own means, plus it showcased an image of his code name’s origin. Now that he’s a more experienced and busy crime fighter with more resources at his disposal, he needs a costume with more protection and functionality, which the new suit provides. The red chest plate looks a little too Martian Manhunter, and the rest of the suit doesn’t have distinct enough features to make an impression.

CRAIG: The Season 5 costume for Wild Dog was such a perfect interpretation of what we saw from the comics that I’m disappointed by any change. It might have even been one of the best comics to TV translations I’ve ever seen. I like, respect, and appreciate elements that we see in the new suit, but now Wild Dog looks like an action figure rather than someone who leaped right out of the comic book page.
