AR404B_0409bDid you like seeing John Constantine on Arrow?

CRAIG: I did, though I’d like to know why no one bothered to call him when they were dealing with magic relics in the crossover. I also really wish we had seen more of him, rather than just random pop-ins to the present and the past. Hopefully he can come back again — and if Chas or Zed come along with him, I would be more than okay with that.

Ultimately, like Matt below, I think I expected something that felt more like an episode of Constantine vs. a story where he truly is just a guest star.

MATT: I did, though I was less impressed with the overall product of the episode. It felt like it should’ve been stretched over two episodes. Plus, even though they built some ability for John to interact with the larger DCU on his own series — indeed, we were introduced to a pre-Spectre Jim Corrigan — there still felt a bit like a blunting of John to fit into the feel of Arrow. Matt Ryan still made it work, but I would’ve liked to have felt a little more of the Constantine texture in the episode. Getting some of the series’ score was fun, though.

constantinearrowSTEPHANIE: I did! Matt Ryan has an undeniable charisma and John Constantine fit into the world of Arrow without a hitch. I hope he comes back. I still haven’t finished his series though, which I’m pretty sure I say every roundtable, so hopefully this will be the last year for that.

DEREK: I never got around to watching his show, so I didn’t come in with any expectations. But I think I get the love for the character — he’s just oozing charisma, and I definitely agree with Thea’s “yummy” assessment. His episode wasn’t my favorite, but I appreciate that it wasn’t treated so much like a crossover as just bringing in a cool guest star.
