Team GATV Roundtable: Looking Back At Arrow Season 5

On a scale of 1-10 how excited are you for the return of Raisa the Maid?

CRAIG: 15!

MATT: Ummm…

STEPHANIE: YES! (And, yes, I realize that’s not a number…) I like how the show can honor season one characters so many years later, whether they were regulars such as Tommy or Yao Fei, or someone with significantly less screen time, such as Raisa the maid.

MELISSA: 11, naturally! No, but seriously, I always considered Raisa a dropped plot point. We saw her character only briefly in the pilot, but she was one of the few that only had good things to say about Oliver in his pre-island days. That made her instantly stand out. And now that Oliver has lost any other parental figures in his life, it was a wonderful idea to bring back Raisa to give him that connection just at a time when he will be grappling with how to be a parent.

Plus after all the fan fic she’s been in over the years, it’s about time she made her second appearance on the show.
