David Anders To Play New Arrow Villain “Cyrus Vanch”

David Anders has a history of appearing in genre favorite TV series. He got his start as Sark on Alias, and then made his way through popular hits like Heroes, The Vampire Diaries, and Once Upon A Time.

Now, Anders is headed to Arrow, in casting news revealed by Zap2It.com. He will be appearing in Episode 13 of the series, which is titled “Betrayal,” as a character named “Cyrus Vanch.”

Like other recent guest villains, he’s described as “unlike any threat Arrow has ever faced.” In this case, Anders’ character is described as a “ruthless career criminal” who has just gotten out of prison after a long time there. Instead of being rehabilitated, he goes right back to doing bad things, which particularly gets Laurel interested in taking him down. When she finds the police can’t help, she turns to Arrow for help. That is, if they can find him… he’s trying to take over the criminal underworld, and he thinks that getting rid of the Arrow will definitely get their attention.
