Arrow Finds Its Canary – And It’s Katie Cassidy!

And now we know who will be playing Dinah “Laurel” Lance in The CW’s Arrow pilot – and she’s a fan favorite!

Katie Cassidy (Supernatural) has landed the lead female role in Arrow – a character who may or may not end up being the Black Canary with time.

Previously, Cassidy starred in The CW’s Melrose Place reboot, and regardless of one’s thoughts of the show, many would agree she was one of the best parts.

Dinah was previously played by Alaina Huffman in Smallville. On Birds of Prey, The Black Canary was played by Lori Loughlin, with Rachel Skarsten playing the Canary’s daughter Dinah.
