Team GATV Roundtable: Looking Back At Arrow Season 6 & Forward To Season 7
Opinion July 20, 2018 Craig Byrne

How do you think the show will re-integrate Colton Haynes’ Roy Harper?
CRAIG: Well, his name is cleared, but beyond that? Your guess is as good as mine. It sounds like he might be trying to make a difference without a costume.
MELISSA: End of season six, Oliver cleared Roy Harper’s name, thus paving a way for Roy to return once he got over having “died” in prison. (Do the people of Star City ever get tired of all the people returning from the dead?) Part of me is bummed the off-screen Happily Ever After between Thea and Roy is disrupted, but I am selfish enough to want him back on the show anyway.
Maybe Roy just shows up to reclaim his life and naturally gets pulled into whatever is happening. Or maybe Roy starts off protecting Felicity and William wherever they’ve been hiding and comes home with them. Whatever reason he comes back, I think his return will feel natural. Roy was a character that may have gotten sporadic attention from the writers, but fit in well on the team. I expect he’ll fit in well once again.
MATT: I’m gathering it’ll be all hands on deck to protect the city and/or try to track down Diaz and bringing Roy back to help will certainly be useful. I’m curious how they’ll explain why Roy left Thea with Nyssa to hunt down the Thanatos group. They made such a point about the two of them being together and making their way in the world side-by-side that it seems weird for Roy to suddenly be back. And it’s not as if Roy’s just coming back for an appearance or two. Colton’s going to be a series regular again, which is likely at least 13 episodes.
STEPHANIE: I don’t know that I have any legitimate guesses on how they’ll reintegrate Roy, but I’m definitely curious to see how they explain bringing him back without Thea. Do we know for certain that he’s playing Earth One Roy? Maybe it’s another doppelganger situation. That’d be interesting. I don’t really want to see him back as a vigilante because there are enough already, so I’d love to see him join the police force and become Dinah’s partner. That way he’d still be involved in saving the city.
