Team GATV Midseason Roundtable: Arrow Season 5 So Far

Is there a character who has been missing that you’d really like to see coming back?

STEPHANIE: As usual, my first answer is Nyssa, although it might be difficult with Katrina Law on Training Day. How has Nyssa been spending her time since Sara’s off in who-knows-what century, the League is officially disbanded, and Laurel, her only friend, and her father are both dead? Is she being hunted? Is she working retail? Is she interested in joining Team Arrow? Especially with Talia showing up this season, I’m curious to see if there’s been an unofficial resurgence in Nanda Parbat to avenge the death of Ra’s or if that’s all water under the bridge.

Since he hasn’t actually appeared on an episode of Arrow before, this might be an odd answer, but I’d love to see Captain Cold. I feel like they made a pretty big deal about Wentworth Miller having this novel series regular contract across all the DCwU shows, but so far, his appearances have hardly been existent.

MATT: A return of Roy would be nice. No one else jumps out at me. If they can find a way to potentially transition Earth-2 Laurel to the version of Black Canary we’d all hoped to see from the beginning of the series, I met be on-board with that. That’s a tall order.

CRAIG: I didn’t realize until episode 100 how much I miss Moira, but there have been so many resurrections on this show, I think her time is sadly left in the past. I will say I thought the “Human Target” episode was very successful and I’d love to see Christopher Chance again. (Can he turn himself into Mark Valley or Rick Springfield for a scene, just for kicks?) Also, it should go without saying and it’s hypocritical of me to say since I want Arrow to be grounded, but John Constantine is welcome on this show at any time. Additionally, I know Caity Lotz is over on Legends but I’d LOVE to see flashbacks to Sara’s “missing years.”

Also: Where is Carly Diggle? It might be interesting to see her reaction to all that happened last year. But maybe she’s chilling in Limbo with Joanna, who didn’t even bother to come to Laurel’s funeral.

MELISSA: Not really. There have been too many new characters introduced this season for me to wish for more right now. In the future I want the return of Felicity’s parents and I always enjoy Nyssa, but there’s no hurry.
