The CW’s Arrow/Flash spinoff project has cast their “mystery hero.”
London-based actor Franz Drameh has been cast as Jay Jackson, who is described as a former high school athlete whose pro-career was derailed by injury. Now making ends meets as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew.
As far as we can tell at the moment, Jay Jackson is not a known character from the DC universe.
Drameh got his start on British television with Parents of the Band on BBC. He then appeared in the film Hereafter alongside Matt Damon, with Clint Eastwood directing. His other big-name credits include Attack the Block and Edge of Tomorrow, and soon he will be in A Hundred Streets with Idris Elba and Gemma Arterton.
Interestingly, the official press release announcing Drameh’s casting still refers to the spinoff as “The Untitled DC Project.” Maybe Legends of Tomorrow is just a placeholder? Although it is interesting that no one has really corrected that the way we were told “No, it’s not called The Atom.” Hmm….
