Could There Be A Star City 2040 Spinoff For Arrow’s Flash Forward Characters?

Even though a website that routinely makes crap up for clicks says it’s a sure thing, TV Line, as actual journalists, responsibly asked Executive Producer Beth Schwartz directly about a “Star City 2040” spinoff for Arrow’s future characters to star Katherine McNamara, Joseph David-Jones, and Ben Lewis, among others.

So, was the “Star City 2040” episode intended as a spinoff pilot?

“It was definitely meant to grow the world that we had already built and to see the next generation of what Oliver and Felicity and our present-day team have worked so hard for, and sort of see what happens in the future,” Beth told them. “We love those characters and would love to see them go on in some capacity after the show’s over,” possibly through crossovers with the remaining Arrowverse shows. “We were so happy, internally, about how it came out,” she added in the TV Line inteview. “We kinda love our future story.”
