Arrow Casts V’s Marc Singer As Matthew Shrieve
NewsSpoilers December 12, 2014 Craig Byrne
Star of the original V and BeastMaster Marc Singer will be guest starring on Arrow in a recurring role as Matthew Shrieve, who in the comics was the leader of the Creature Commandos. The news was revealed by Comic Book Resources today.
CBR also ran the Warner Bros. TV description of the character, which says the following:
In the DC Comics, Matthew Shrieve is the leader of a group known as the Creature Commandos. In ‘Arrow’ he will play a significant role in the latter portion of the season’s flashback storyline.
(Note they say “flashback storyline,” which means that the Creature Commandos may not factor in.)
CBR also points out that Singer has a DC connection as the voice of Man-Bat (Dr. Kirk Langstrom) on Batman: The Animated Series. He’s also a cousin of Superman Returns director Bryan Singer, and, of course, that was the movie that featured Arrow’s Brandon Routh as Superman. It’s all connected!
Look for him to first appear in the 14th episode of Arrow Season 3, which is titled “The Return” and also features a guest appearance by Manu Bennett.
(Us? We’re still bitter we never got that third season of V which would have featured Singer in a new role.)
