Green Arrow and the Canaries Filming Begins

While Green Arrow and the Canaries isn’t officially announced as the title for the Arrow spinoff that may serve as a continuation of the show once it’s all over, that’s the title referenced in a video that Katherine McNamara shared this morning, announcing that today is the first day of filming.

“Today is pretty special. It is the first day of shooting on the backdoor pilot, as it were, of Green Arrow and the Canaries,” McNamara said in a video shared online this morning.

“It’s really exciting,” she continued. “I don’t know what’s in store, but whatever it is, it’s going to be pretty bad-ass.”

You can see her video below. The proposed spinoff would star McNamara as Mia Smoak alongside Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance and Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake. The title Green Arrow and the Canaries first became known to fandom when Marc Guggenheim shared a custom comic book cover.
