Manu Bennett‘s presence as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke was one of the many great things about this year’s Arrow season finale; assuming he survives, Slade would surely have a new mission, to find his son Joe, as well. Deathstroke has long been a favorite character from the comics, currently starring in his own comic book series, and he’s said to be appearing in the movies, as played by Joe Mangianello.
When answering a compliment from a fan on Twitter, Bennett told that fan what people should do if they want a Deathstroke original TV series.
“Everybody who wants a #deathstrokeoriginalseries needs to rally @DCComics @WarnerBrosEnt @GBerlanti & @mguggenheim @netflix,” the actor tweeted. It’s interesting to note that he included Netflix there; a streaming location for a Deathstroke show might be better suited for Warner Bros.’ upcoming DC Comics-based streaming service, which will include a new Titans TV series (also a great place for Bennett to land, as Deathstroke is one of their most popular foes).
Later, Bennett tweeted that he’d like to see Deathstroke creator Marv Wolfman involved. “I think the most important person to get behind any #deathstrokeoriginalseries is @marvwolfman who created the character,” he stated.
As far as we know, Bennett is currently contracted and involved with MTV/Spike’s The Shannara Chronicles; a streaming series could possibly take up less time so he could do both, or do one during the hiatus of the other.
